Two problems at once

Sidcup cars tend to carry two different problems at the same time, and they need treating in the right order.

The first is contamination from the A20 and the wider commuter run: brake dust, tar spotting, and industrial fallout that bonds into the clear coat and makes paint feel gritty even after washing. The second is physical damage from parking, the same scuffs and dings every South East London suburb produces.

Decontamination comes first

Polishing contaminated paint drags bonded particles across the surface and adds marks. So the first stage is always chemical decontamination to dissolve iron particles and tar, then a mechanical decontamination to lift anything left.

Only then do we assess what correction the paint actually needs, and it is frequently less than the owner assumed. A lot of what people read as scratching is contamination sitting on top of the paint, and it comes away before we polish anything.

Then correction, then protection

With the surface clean, we measure the paint and correct it under proper lighting to remove the swirls and marring that are genuinely in the clear coat. A ceramic coating then locks in that finish and makes the next round of A20 grime far easier to wash off.
