We decontaminate to strip bonded salt and fallout, correct the paint to restore gloss, and then apply a ceramic coating that gives the salt a surface it cannot bond to. On a coastal car we pay particular attention to the wheels and lower edges, where salt does the most damage.
A coating will not make a car immune to the sea air, but it turns maintenance into a simple safe wash and puts a hard, chemically resistant layer between the salt and your clear coat.
Worth the run up the M20
